Mood board
Deliverable
Phase one was painless due to Jes's strong vision for the brand he wanted to build. We quickly came up with the phrase "ideas for hire" which would be used as the tagline for the brand and the foundational concept. We wanted to create a brand that had a playful element focused on creativity, while also emphasizing the professional capability of Jes's marketing abilities. The bright colors in the color palette, the marketing-based doodle pattern, and the watercolor-paper texture were all defined here.
Typography, assets, & colors
Deliverable
As I worked to define the brand identity, I decided on a type family, solidified the color palette, and added hand assets from Shutterstock. These were a lot of fun to use, and provided an opportunity to ground the doodle aesthetic in something more tangible, highlighting the juxtaposition between "ideas" and "for hire."
Logo, brand guidelines
Deliverable
The logo design came next, which was largely inspired by the lightbulb in the mock logo on the moodboard. Jes loved the way it looked with "Ideas for Hire," and we discussed creating a version with the JA monogram worked into the mark. After some trial and error with different typefaces and styles of lightbulbs, this was the result. I also created a brand book detailing the usage rules of the logo, colors, brand patterns and textures, and more.
Business cards
Deliverable
The business card design simultaneously with the website. This is where the branding hit the road, as we finalized customer-facing deliverables. The "JA" monogram from the logo design was used here on its own, which added a professional touch.
Website
Deliverable
The website was the final design for the project, so we made sure to pull all the design elements together at their best. The website advertises all of the services that Jes provides and gives a few easy ways to get in touch with him to work on a project. Check out the live site here: jesadammarketing.com
